Under 16 Black Belt Promotions Sunday 3rd Nov. 2013

It was the end of months of preparation. Isobel Nash, Kim Hagger and Adam Chahboub stood proudly together with their new junior Shodan belts tied around them. They have come a long way. They have been tested on their technique, have had to write an essay about their life and their preparation for the promotion and explain what they have learned and had to speak in public to their seniors.

Jun Shihan Brandt Leitch, Head of Fulham Dojo ran the promotion which tested the candidates fitness, knowledge and skills starting at 9.00 a.m and finishing by midday. It was clear that they were very well prepared and soaked up all that was asked of them. The final fighting part of the promotion required them to complete 25 fights of one and a half minutes duration. They fought determined to push through fatigue and demonstrated true Seido fighting spirit.

On the last fight the dojo rang with cheers of the supporters and there was many a tear in the eye of parents and supporters as they saw their son or daughter fight their way through. They all earned their black belts.

Jun Shihan Roger said that he was proud of the way they had conducted themselves throughout the promotion and that they were a credit to their dojos. Jun Shihan Brandt said that it was an excellent promotion and they had set the bar high for others to follow.

At the end of the promotion each candidate thanked their parents and family for the wonderful support they had given them throughout the grading, as well as their instructors and other students who had assisted them in so many different way.

It was a great day run in true Seido spirit. Congratulations to all the newly promoted black belts and our thanks to all students who came along to support on the day. Osu.
